My friend just came back last week from the French Exchange through my school that I did two years ago. She was so awesome and brought me back this beautiful book! I absolutely love it so far and I'm in the middle of reading it. It is in French and offers a French perspective into Parisian style.

This comes at the perfect time to start shopping for my own trip to France (I'm leaving July 17th!).

One of my favorite parts so far was when it talked about the different basics that every Parisian needed. These included a black blazer, a trench coat, a navy sweater, a neutral tank, a little black dress, the perfect pair of jeans, and a leather jacket. To be honest though, these should be in every woman's closet not just les Fran├žaises!

This section talked about different accessories that are popular there as well. There were so many sections to this book, I can't possibly show them all to you, but if you're interested this book is also available in English.

Wicker Park

Yesterday took the L to Wicker Park to get some shopping in for our friend visiting from Poland. She is quite  the shopaholic and I found a hard time keeping up (which is saying something!). It was a fun afternoon and Wicker Park is definitely known for it's second hand shops.

Tank top, Sandals, Bustier: Forever21, Skirt: Thrifted,

Necklace: Charlotte Russe
We also happened to be just in time for the open mike evening at the park. We got to sit and relax with some really cool music and a couple comedians. Afterwards, we walked back into town to get ice cream.

If you are ever in Wicker Park, I HIGHLY recommend getting iCream. It is one of the coolest things. You get to pick either ice cream or yogurt and then choose the flavorings and mix-ins that you want added. They mix it up right there, and it is unbelievably fresh and delicious. Not to mention that Nutella is a mix in option which makes it and automatic win in my book.

Chicago Blogger Network and StyleCaster

Last night I went to a very fun event hosted by StyleCaster and some local Chicago bloggers. It was a evening of food, music, dancing, and of course a plethora of style!

And my hair dresser of the evening was the awesome Mindy from The Teddie Kossof Salon who gave me my rock star 'do

With the lovely Francia from Paris Takes Chi

And I'd like to give a huge shout out to our hosts of the evening The Midwasteland, Chicago Street Style, and Second City Style. And a big thank you to The Teddie Kossof Salon for the beautiful venue and awesome makeovers.

I'm a Little Fuzzy on the Subject

Cropped tank: Forever21, Shorts: H&M
I'm not quite sure why these turned out so light but I think it adds an interesting twist. This is just a normal summer outfit for me. I love crop tops and easy shorts. It was perfect for a bonfire.
Bralette: Free People

Tulips and Bows

skirt: Target, shoes: BCBG

Shirt: Forever21
Sorry I didn't do my haul post yet from my shopping expedition, but I just wanted to show you what I wore today! I had a scholarship breakfast so I had to dress "business appropriate". I wore a white blazer to cover the back of the shirt because I wouldn't necessarily consider that "business appropriate". Never the less, I do love the back of this shirt and I was ecstatic when it finally came in the mail!

Thrift Shopping (Again)

I know I go all the time but I love it so much! I'm all about the bargain. So these are some pictures from our latest trip and I'll post my haul tomorrow!

Don't Look At Me

Summer Days

This is my first real post of the summer and while it will be more challenging to post, I won't let you down! Summer dressing is fun and easy. The only problem is showing your own creativity with it. In colder months, it's easy to mix and match layers but with the summer heat you can't do that as easily. The best way to add your own flare is through your accessories.

My Apologies..

..For the lack of updates!

The past week or so has been unbelievably crazy, and I'm trying to figure out the dynamics of having this blog in the summer. The sad truth is, I spend the majority of my summer in my pajamas!

But fear not! I have managed to put together a few outfits. I did not have my photographer friend take pictures of me alone though, so you will have to excuse the inclusion of my fabulous friends in the pictures.

Dress: TJ Maxx, Belt: Thrifted
 My beautiful friends and I.
Dress: Forever21

Dress: American Eagle, Belt: Abercrombie

And the most important thing I've worn so far this week.

That is another problem I will be facing. My friend who normally takes my pictures just left yesterday for Paris... poor girl. And while I am unbelievably jealous at the moment, I also have to figure out how to get my outfits photographed.

Here's to better planning in the future!!
